THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

‘Your strength will be renewed each day like the morning dew.’  Psalm 110:3 NIV

Dew falls during a still night. You cannot see or hear it, but it will shine on your lawn in the morning sunlight.

Come to Him and be still. It is not simply enough to sleep and wake refreshed. You must learn to still your mind and heart.  Let the dew from heaven settle on your spirit. To receive the calm and quiet of God, everything else has to be put to one side.

‘But he himself will be refreshed from brooks along the way. He will be victorious.’ (v7) NIV

Renewed each day and refreshed along the way: this sounds like the perfect Christian walk.

We become so engrossed in our day-to-day affairs that we often don’t realise there are ‘brooks along the way.’  Places to stop and drink and be refreshed. If the word of God says there are brooks along the way, there must be. It’s our job to find them. Try and pause through the busyness and listen. You may hear the sound of the brook. You may suddenly find refreshing.

Doesn’t life feel so different when you are not tired and weary? No wonder Jesus said,

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 NIV

Renewed, refreshed and rested: let this be our goal this week.
