MINISTERS

Diana and Graham Rutherford moved from Glasgow to Cumbernauld in 1985 and began a house group in connection with Struthers Memorial Church in 1986. The work in Cumbernauld grew quickly, eventually leading to the opening of our building in 1997 (see below).
The couple were both saved and baptised in the Holy Spirit as teenagers. They have always had a real drive for the gospel! Their burning vision is to see many souls won for Jesus Christ, and that all things be done to the glory of God. Their three sons now married all support the work of the church along with their wives.

youth leader

Karen Tiffany, known to us all as Tiffies, has been working with children for many years. She is a qualified Children’s nurse and experienced school teacher. Her kindly approach to the youth have made her very popular and she has helped steady several teenagers through the rocky years of adolescence.

WORSHIP LEADERS

Mark & Laura lead our music ministry. Mark is gifted on the piano with his wife Laura  accompanying him with her beautiful singing voice.

cumbernauld church origins

Struthers Church Cumbernauld started as a small house group in the mid 1980’s.  It has grown into a thriving church based in the Abronhill area of Cumbernauld with members attending from Kilsyth, Airdrie, Coatbridge, Motherwell and Wishaw areas.
As the congregation grew we hired local community rooms and schools to hold the meetings.  In 1997, we bought some land in the Larch Road area of Abronhill and had constructed our own purpose built church, which included facilities for Sunday schools, Creche and a Coffee Shop.  The building was dedicated on 15 May 1997.
Our members consist of a wide range of  ordinary people, from all ages and different backgrounds.  Whoever  you are,  you will be made very welcome.
Over the last few years we have bought and refurbished a Gospel Hall in Newmains for those travelling from further afield.
More recently we have developed links with Jumping Jacks which is an addiction treatment centre based in Glasgow.
