THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

‘You give them relief from troubled times.’ Psalm 94:13 NLT

Our Heavenly Father will never allow things to get too difficult for you. Even in the worst of troubled times, He will steady you with His hand if you allow Him to do so.

When you find yourself in difficulties, learn to develop the habit of opening yourself for His help.  Pause amid all the stress: look up and you will begin to find His quiet strength.  When we need help, we can find a wonderful peace that passes all our understanding of the circumstances around us. It can be quite overwhelming at times flooding our hearts and minds powerfully. We don’t understand why, but we suddenly feel calm amid the storm.

He often gives a word in season that can help us, giving us the courage to go forward. Even if you don’t have time to read your Bible the way you’d like to, your Father can still speak to you. In my most pressing times, I’ve found that a line of a hymn, a learned Bible phrase or even an advertisement I’ve driven past has spoken His word to my heart, strengthening me and filling me with joy. The sudden realisation that He is with you makes all the difference.

Have confidence that He will support you throughout all your troubles. They will not last forever.  Recognise this time is only for a season and even this will pass. It gives us strength for today to know our tomorrow will be brighter.

When all is changing around you, when it feels like your world is crumbling, look up to the Rock that is bigger and stronger than you. He is the One who will never change and will bring relief from troubled times.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”  Hebrews 13:8 NLT

Look for those moments of relief amid your day. Suddenly, even for a moment, He will be there, and when He is with you it will make all the difference.
