THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

‘Satisfy us each morning with your unfailing love,So we may sing for joy to the end of our lives.’ Psalm 90:14 NIV

This is a good prayer to start the day whether you’ve had a bad night or a restful one. No matter how you feel when you wake, whisper this prayer:

 ‘Satisfy us each morning.’

Praying even in our tired and sleepy state means we are turning our minds away from ourselves and the way we feel to our Heavenly Father. This can only bring blessing even after a very long night.

The Psalmist explains why he needs satisfied with the presence of God in the morning. It is so that he can sing and bring glory to God. However, not only is this pleasing to our Heavenly Father, but it will also benefit us.  Turning our face Godward can only help emotionally, mentally and physically.

“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.”
Proverbs 17:22 NLT

The Passion Translation explains it thoroughly:

“A joyful, cheerful heart brings healing to both body and soul. But the one whose heart is crushed struggles with sickness and depression.”
Proverbs 17:22 TPT

Have you a broken spirit or a crushed heart? Are you suffering from clouds of depression which hover over your head threatening to descend and completely engulf you? Then this is the answer, pray: ‘Satisfy me each morning.’

I assure you He will hear and the Lord Jesus who came to give life will answer, for He said:

“My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”  John 10:10 NLT

How wonderful to be satisfied each morning.
