Sometimes it’s hard to find strength for the difficult situations we have to face. We feel continually worried about the problems we have to face tomorrow. However, if we seek carefully, we discover great wisdom in the teaching of Christ when He said:
“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” Matt 6:34 NLT
He will not give you strength for the things you worry about in the future but will give strength for today's troubles, the things you face right now. If you turn to Him, you will find Him, and suddenly you will know the best way to deal with your troubles.
Worrying about the troubles of tomorrow won’t help you. Neither will you have the strength to deal with them because that has not been given yet. That is tomorrow’s manna.
Make this your prayer: ‘be our strength every morning.’ Then you will receive all that you need, for Jesus says:
“Ask, and it will be given to you.” Matt 7:7 NKJV
You might have to face some terrible situations in the future, but in the moment of crisis as you quietly whisper a prayer to Him, you will suddenly find His strength and help. As you practice leaning daily upon Him for strength, then you will find:
“He will be the sure foundation for your times.” Isaiah 33:6 NIV
Jesus is referred to as the Rock of our Salvation for a reason. He becomes the sure foundation under our feet, the Rock on which we stand. He will be the strength you gather in your morning prayer.
Don’t forget to spend time waiting for strength today!
